A Mother. A Veteran. A Caregiver. An Advocate.
I’m T. M. Thomas, the founder of PALS.
My journey into advocacy started from a deeply personal place. As a disabled veteran and a mother of two children with significant disabilities. I found myself in the middle of systems that didn’t understand or support families like mine. I didn’t set out to become an advocate, but life gave me no other choice. Over time, the challenges I faced became the reason I learned, fought, and stood up. Not just for my children, but for others who needed a voice too.
I fought to secure my children’s education, pushed through layers of medical red tape, and worked tirelessly to keep a roof over our heads, especially when it felt like everything was stacked against us. I’ve written IEP letters, challenged unjust housing and Medicaid decisions, sat through difficult meetings, endured frustrating delays, and faced the fear of not knowing what to do next.
Over time, I realized something powerful: too many families are fighting the same battles without the tools, knowledge, or support they need to succeed.
That’s why I created Parent Advocacy Letter Services (PALS).
Through strategic letter writing, accessible toolkits, and personalized guidance, I help parents and individuals advocate for themselves and their loved ones with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
You don’t have to navigate this alone. I’ve been there and I’m here to help.

Exceptional Advocacy and Support - Highly Recommend PALS!
I cannot recommend Parent Advocacy Letter Services (PALS) highly enough! They were an absolute game-changer for my family in navigating challenges with my child's school. Instead of responding with emotions, PALS ensured that our communications were grounded in laws and rights, giving us the confidence to advocate effectively. Their turnaround time was incredible fast, and they provided detailed updates on IEP violations, ensuring that we stayed informed every step of the way. We also relied on their expertise for Due Process proceedings, and their support was invaluable. If you need a knowledgeable, responsive, and dedicate advocacy service to ensure your child's educational rights are protected, PALS is the way to go! Their professionalism and commitment to families make them a true asset in the fight for educational equity. Thank you, PALS, for everything you do!

Incredible Experience with PALS!
My family has had an incredible experience working with Mrs. Thomas. Having a disabled child in special education and fighting with the school district can be such a confusing, overwhelming, and isolating experience. We were experiencing numerous issues both with our child's IEP and supports as well as general issues with the district that have been going neglecting. Mrs. Thomas was able to get right to the heart of the issues we were having and knew exactly which laws were being violated. Her letters and complaints are very well informed and concise, and she does a great job of explaining the law to staff and parents that may be unfamiliar. She always responds to us very quickly and is prompt in her communications with the district. Mrs. Thomas is a fierce advocate for disabled children, and any parent is lucky to have her in their corner!
